Governor Hogan Wants To Pause Gas Taxes in MD

Governor Larry Hogan is working to get an emergency suspension of the gas tax in Maryland to give us some financial relief. The struggle is real!

The gas tax comes in at roughly 37 cents per gallon.

Comptroller Peter Franchot recommended that Hogan use Maryland’s $7.5 billion surplus to fund a 3 month gas tax holiday- and to assist low-income families and others struggling to keep up with the increased costs of necessities over the past year.

Fingers crossed that Hogan’s efforts on this work out for Marylanders! 🤞🏾
