On Tuesday of this week, MD’s highest court ordered the state to delay its primary election by three weeks- from Tuesday, June 28th to Tuesday, July 19th. The courts continue to handle ongoing lawsuits alleging that district lines unfairly benefit the Democratic Party.
The practice of creating an election map that benefits one party is known as gerrymandering.
Republicans are hoping that the courts will decide to overturn the districting maps in its ruling(s).
