According to an article this week in the Bowie Patch, Maryland is one of 24 states with a bird flu outbreak. 😱

The article notes that the source of the bird flu was likely asymptomatic wild birds that carried the disease to new areas during migration.
The Maryland Agriculture Secretary stated that the avian flu does not affect poultry meat or egg products, which remain healthy and safe to eat and handle.
But then, the article later qualifies this statement. It mentions that per the CDC, there is no risk to humans that eggs and chickens from infected flocks IF they are properly handled and cooked.
Hmmmm….
