The verdict is still out on whether the masses are happy with the new team name. Perhaps it will grow on us the more we hear it…
The Franchise liked the idea of the new team name being linked to the military. So here we are with the Washington Commanders.
According to the ESPN article below, the team may have been renamed the Red Wolves if there weren’t trademark issues. Other names considered were Presidents, Brigade, Redhogs, Armada and Defenders.
The article also describes the huge undertaking that was the selection process for the new name.
